Welcome

Meet Mrs. Pinela

"A person's is a person. No matter how small."

- Dr Seuss

Welcome Everyone!

I am Mrs. Pinela and will be your child's teacher. I am looking forward to a wonderful year.  I have been teaching in LAUSD for 18 years. I have taught ETK, TK, Kinder, first and third grade. I have been at Anatola for four years where I have taught Pre-K and ETK. Most of my teaching career has been in the primary grades.  I am a mother of two girls and one boy.

Children in my class will develop kindergarten readiness and social-emotional skills through activities that build confidence and communication.  They will also be exposed to reading and math in interactive ways using educational games, songs and poems.

Play based learning will be used in the classroom.  Play based learning encourages children to explore and discover.  It provides experiences that foster curiosity, ability to raise questions and practice problem-solving.

Outdoor learning activities are an essential part of the classroom.  Outdoor learning activities will promote school readiness, social/emotional and gross motor development.

I have planned fun and exciting activities for you and your child this year.  I welcome everyone to enter into the classroom and be part of the ETK family.
